Primary Function
TraDesk's Office Pods are treated with Speco’s proprietary BlueBond Anti-Formaldehyde solution, a high-performance coating engineered to significantly improve indoor air quality in modern workspaces. This finish actively neutralizes free formaldehyde molecules emitted from particleboard, MDF, and other composite materials—while contributing to a healthier, safer, and more sustainable indoor environment.
The technology supports green building standards by lowering the emission of formaldehyde and VOCs, aligning with international indoor air quality benchmarks and helping building developers and designers meet WELL, LEED, and BCA Green Mark criteria.
Mechanism of Action – Speco BlueBond
The BlueBond formula utilizes a synergistic combination of:
nucleophilic addition, converting it into stable, inert polymeric structures. This mechanism effectively reduces ambient formaldehyde levels while contributing to circular waste valorization.
Amino acids with reactive primary amine groups bind formaldehyde via Schiff base formation, transforming harmful gaseous formaldehyde into non-volatile, harmless compounds. In combination with the biopolymer matrix, this supports further degradation of residual aldehydes and VOCs, enhancing overall detoxification efficacy.
The active formulation is permanently bonded to treated surfaces using organo-silane chemistry, ensuring strong covalent attachment to materials such as melamine, laminates, powder-coated metals, and painted wood. This creates a durable, transparent, and long-lasting finish that preserves surface aesthetics while delivering sustained formaldehyde neutralization and antimicrobial protection.
